Can video format of Tau2, Quark2 be changed from NTSC to PAL?
For Tau2 and Quark2, the video format can be changed by the customer from NTSC to PAL, or vice-versa. The video format state can be saved into camera memory via the GUI (Graphical User Interface).
-
Can Tau2 or Quark wireless transmit video data from unmanned vehicle?
Does Tau2 or Quark furnish an ability to wirelessly transmit or downlink video data from an unmanned vehicle or drone?
-
Is fast video rate better for live streaming of thermal images?
Yes, slow video (7.5 fps or 8.3 fps) is accomplished in the Tau2, Quark2, Muon, FLIR Vue, and FLIR Vue Pro by replicating (not averaging) 4 or 3 frames, respectively.
-
Will FLIR calibrate my lens with a Tau2 or Quark2?
Tau2 and Quark2 cameras each have unique considerations for changing lenses. Regardless of camera model, FLIR advises against customers changing lenses without first understanding the implications and consequences.
-
How are FLIR's thermal cameras identified for warranty purposes?
A unique serial number is etched into the camera frame of each Quark2, Tau2, and legacy Photon camera.
-
Does FLIR offer an enclosure for Boson, Tau2 or Quark2 cameras?
FLIR does not offer enclosures as stand-alone products, or as accessories for Boson, Tau2, or Quark2.

-
Can the FLIR start-up screen be disabled in Tau2 and Quark2 cameras?
Can the FLIR start-up splash screen be disabled in Tau2 and Quark2 cameras? Can a different splash screen be used?
-
How does Tau2 adapt to the TTL output of a UART or RS-422 receiver?
RS-232 and RS-422 are legacy interfaces. Tau2 and Quark2 cameras still have some vestigial support, as follows. RS-232 transceivers invert the polarity of the signals, so the sense or polarity of the local logic signal is the opposite of the polarity of the transmission wire signal.
-
How many bits per pixel is the digital output?
For Quark2, Tau2, as well as the legacy Photon, Omega (a.k.a. Micron, A10), and Alpha cameras, the output is true 14-bit resolution.
-
Do Tau2 and Quark2 cameras support TTL-level communication?
Do Tau2 and Quark2 cameras support TTL-level communication?
-
Does Muon have defective pixel replacement?
Muon does have a primitive defective pixel replacement routine. This is simply the previously known good pixel.
