FLIR Cameras for Advanced Radiometry
Whether you want to study aerodynamic designs, characterize thermal signatures, or identify defects, you need reliable, high-definition thermal data to support your research. FLIR radiometric cameras enable you to optimize and calibrate your system to meet your unique research needs, and give you full control over your measurement process.
-
Aerothermal Research
High speeds apply significant strain on the aerodynamic and thermal designs of vessels and components. FLIR’s advanced radiometric cameras enable researchers to capture data and test components and how they interact with airflows at high velocity.
-
Target Signature Research
FLIR radiometric cameras enable you to custom calibrate and measure radiance in specific wavebands with more accuracy and certainty, so you can characterize and refine IR target signatures with the most defensible data.
-
Non-destructive Testing
Teledyne FLIR’s advanced radiometric cameras can help detect internal defects in composites, the fuselage, rotor and turbine blades and other aerospace structures through targeted external excitation and the observation of thermal differences on a target's surface. Standard, built-in triggering and timing signals support Lock-In, Transient, and Pulse thermography systems for advanced inspection techniques such as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) or stress mapping with resolvable temperature differences as low as 1 mK.
-
Plumes and Propulsion
Exhaust plumes are a prominent source of infrared radiation signatures in flight vehicles. Teledyne FLIR’s advanced radiometric cameras enable researchers to not only capture IR signature data, but also study propulsion and combustion processes in high detail, and thus improve engine performance.
