Swedish National Police Use FLIR in Key Fight Against Recent Swedish Wildfire
Sweden experienced a large number of wildfires during their recent, unusually warm and dry summer. On August 5, 2018, the island of Björkö experienced a fire that rapidly grew out of control. The Swedish National Police, with their Bell 429 helicopters equipped with the FLIR Star SAFIRE 380-HDc multi-spectral imaging sensor were quickly called to assist.

FLIR Systems, Inc. delivers a marine industry first with the introduction of the Raymarine® navigation technology, ClearCruise™ AR (Augmented Reality), which brings enhanced on water awareness to Raymarine’s family of Axiom®multifunction displays (MFDs). With ClearCruise AR, Raymarine Axiom users can make smarter decisions with physical navigation objects overlaid directly on Axiom’s high-definition (HD) video display. FLIR also announced a new video stabilization module, the Raymarine AR200, which integrates with ClearCruise.

FLIR Launches Black Hornet Vehicle Reconnaissance System
WILSONVILLE, Ore. – October 8, 2018 – FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) today announced the FLIR Black Hornet® Vehicle Reconnaissance System (VRS), featuring the Black Hornet 3 nano-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for global military, government agency, and first responder vehicle-mounted operations. The Black Hornet VRS is based on an adaption of the unique Black Hornet Personal Reconnaissance System (PRS), the world’s smallest combat-proven nano-unmanned aerial system (UAS). Black Hornet VRS enables the warfighter to maintain situational awareness, threat detection, and surveillance for battle damage assessment, pre-deployment and route and point reconnaissance, and targeting information without the need for warfighters to exit a vehicle.
