5 Technologies that Increase Safety and Physical Security at Data Centers
By the end of 2013, the world’s datasphere was approximately 4.3 zettabytes; over the following five years, that number ballooned to 33 zettabytes. By 2025, the International Data Corporation predicts that the global datasphere will increase to 175 zettabytes, meaning there will be 40 times more data generated globally than when data centers were first categorized as critical infrastructure.

Measuring the heat generation of the fiber laser and utilizing it for optimization to produce higher power
Dr. Reza Amani (Project Associate Professor from the Center for Attosecond Laser Science, Graduate School of Science at The University of Tokyo) utilizes thermal imaging cameras to measure heat that is generated on the gain fiber of a fiber laser, thereby preventing equipment damage or injuries to operators due to a rupture that may occur when temperature limits are exceeded. These cameras can help with giving instructions to students during experiments, improving safety for operators at on-site applications, and improving performance of the equipment, etc.

Teledyne FLIR Joins Oregon Zoo in Celebrating Record Breaking Hatching for Condors
Teledyne FLIR is joining the Oregon Zoo in celebrating a record hatching season for endangered California condors. Twelve fuzzy condor chicks are joining the nest at the Oregon Zoo this spring, setting a record from last year’s ten chicks. These birds will eventually head to a wild release site where they will join other free roaming condors in California and Arizona. Until then, the chicks will spend at least eight months with their parents before being moved to pre-release pens for about a year.

Q&A: Protecting Wildlife in Africa with WWF and Teledyne FLIR
Teledyne FLIR has worked with the WWF since 2016 by providing fix-mounted security cameras, truck-mounted cameras, and handheld thermal cameras, among other pieces of equipment, along with engineering and technical support. This partnership has led to the arrest of hundreds of poachers since 2016, and the success of the program has led to widespread deployment of FLIR thermal imaging cameras at parks and private land across Kenya and other African nations including Zambia.
